Where our families come from
We are in Bushey, and our kittens go to homes right across Hertfordshire and the northern edge of London.
We do not deliver kittens, and that is deliberate
Every kitten that leaves here is collected in person, by the family taking it home. We will not put a kitten in a van, meet you in a car park, or post one anywhere. That is not us being difficult. Meeting a kitten with its mother, in the house it was born in, is the single most reliable way for you to tell a good breeder from a bad one, and we would rather you had that chance than not.
It also means geography matters. The list below is simply where our families tend to travel from. If you are further out and willing to make the journey, you are just as welcome.
Bushey
Home.
The cattery is here, in an ordinary family house in Bushey. Kittens are born in the spare room and raised underfoot, which is the whole point. If you are local, you are the easiest visit we get.
Watford
Our neighbouring town.
Watford sits immediately north of us, so Watford families tend to visit more than once: a first meeting, and then again nearer collection day when the kitten is old enough to recognise you. We are glad to arrange both.
Harrow
The nearest part of north-west London.
A good number of our kittens go to Harrow and the surrounding boroughs. If you are coming from London, be aware that we ask for an in-person visit before any deposit, so it is worth planning a relaxed trip rather than a rushed one.
St Albans
North, across Hertfordshire.
St Albans families have taken several of our kittens over the past couple of years. It is a straightforward run across the county and well worth doing properly, with enough time to meet the mother as well as the kittens.
Berkhamsted
West Hertfordshire.
Berkhamsted, Tring and the villages out that way are comfortably within reach. We are always happy to talk on WhatsApp first so you know a visit is worth your time before you set off.
Hemel Hempstead & Rickmansworth
And the rest of the county.
We do not draw a hard boundary. Families have travelled a good deal further than this for the right kitten, and if you are willing to make the journey we are willing to make the time.
Visiting us
How a visit actually works
- 1Message us firstWhatsApp is easiest. Tell us roughly what you are hoping for and when. We will be honest if we have nothing suitable, rather than inviting you over on the off chance.
- 2Come and meet themYou will meet the kittens and their mother, in the room they live in. Ask us anything. We would far rather answer twenty questions than none.
- 3Only then, a depositWe never take money before a visit. If it feels right on both sides afterwards, we will hold your kitten.
- 4Collection at twelve weeksKittens leave at a minimum of twelve weeks old, vet-checked twice, vaccinated, microchipped, and with five weeks of free Agria pet insurance provided through the GCCF.
