Aris, a cinnamon British Shorthair stud

The stud

Rare colour, and a temperament worth passing on

Cinnamon is one of the hardest colours to produce in the breed. As a cinnamon male carrying dilute, chocolate and the longhair gene, Aris opens up pairings that very few studs in the country can offer, and he has sired fourteen litters to date.

Colour is not why we chose him. Aris is affectionate, unbothered by noise and entirely easy to handle, and we believe a good nature deserves passing on as much as good genetics do. You can read his full profile, pedigree and health testing on his page.

Before you book

What we ask of a visiting queen

None of this is box-ticking. Every requirement below exists because ignoring it costs kittens their health, and we would rather turn a mating down than take that risk.

GCCF or TICA registered

We only mate to registered queens on the active register, with paperwork we can see.

PKD tested clear

Either by DNA test or by certified clear parentage. We will ask to see the certificate.

FeLV and FIV tested

Within the last twelve months, and negative. This protects every cat in the house, not just yours.

Vaccinations up to date

Including her annual booster, and not given within the two weeks before the visit.

Blood typed

Strongly advised. Type B is unusually common in British Shorthairs, and a type B queen mated to a type A stud can lose kittens to neonatal isoerythrolysis in the first days of life.

Over ten months, and in good condition

We will not mate a queen who is too young, underweight or unwell, whatever the paperwork says.

The process

How it works

  1. 1Send your request, any timeThe form below is open around the clock. Queens rarely start calling at a convenient hour, so send it whenever it happens and we will pick it up.
  2. 2We review her paperworkWe will come back to you personally, usually within a day, and ask to see her registration and health certificates.
  3. 3We agree dates togetherNothing is confirmed until we have both agreed. For a natural mating she would normally stay with us for a few days.
  4. 4AfterwardsWe stay in touch through the pregnancy and are happy to be asked questions all the way through to the kittens leaving.

On fees and terms. The stud fee, what it covers and what happens if a mating does not take are all agreed in writing before anything is booked. Ask us and we will send the terms in full, with no obligation.

Open 24 hours

Request a booking

Three short steps. Everything is saved the moment you send it, and we will reply personally. This is a request rather than a confirmation: no mating is agreed until we have seen her paperwork and settled the dates between us.
